This book presents research into the discourse of the mainstream media about social minorities, specifically the representation of people with disabilities in the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo in 2015. The theoretical basis of this work is based on the Frankfurt School, according to Juergen Habermas, and Roland Barthes' semiology. The principles of human rights are also used in this book. The results of this research point to a discursive marginalisation suffered by people with disabilities. Finally, to support these results, this book also presents quantitative data that proves the criticisms made.
