We work from the concept of representations used by the 'New' Political History, which was used to understand the accounts of Protestant missionaries from the Church Missionary Society led by Alexander Mackay, who worked in the central region of Africa at the end of the 19th century (1876-1890), engaged in an evangelising project to attract new converts, mainly from the analysis of the primary source The Wonderful History of Uganda published by Joseph Dennis Mullins in 1904 after gathering a series of accounts produced in the period used as a time frame. The work aims to recognise and explain the voice of Africans and their actions as resistors and negotiators in the process that led to the incursion of the Protestant Christian religion into the territory of the former kingdom of Buganda.
