This study focuses on climate variability in Mouhoun province over the period 1991-2021. It is based on documentary analysis of ANAM-BF data. Data analysis was based on climatological data on rainfall, humidity and ETP. These data were processed using Instat+ software. The results showed a reduction in season length, estimated at over 25 days between 1991 and 2021, with a minimum duration of 92 days in 2007 and a maximum duration of 188 days in 1994. The average start date of the winter season was May 28. The upward trend in the season start date, from May 12 in 1991 to June 21 in 2021, indicates a late start to the season. The increase in SPI adequately reflects an upturn in rainfall. As for the water balance diagnosis, it revealed that the start and end of wet seasons varied in time and space, with fluctuations in the rhythm, intensity and duration of wet periods. This reveals a limiting factor for agricultural production.
