The nurse consists of a fully compensatory system in which she manages care, makes judgments and decisions about patient care. This can be seen in the way this professional acts and in the extensions of his or her functions. In this descriptive, prospective and transversal research with the objective of evaluating the behavior of the threat of preterm delivery and designing a nursing care protocol in the Perinatal Maternal Care service at the "Tamara Bunke Bider" North Maternal Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, the study was carried out in 210 patients, who were admitted to the service in this period, with this diagnosis, evaluating the patient's responses after the procedure. The observations in the notes and the independent, dependent and interdependent actions, allowed validating the efficacy of the interventions and the satisfaction of patients and service providers. The procedure will achieve the implementation of a nursing care protocol and the design of instruments for its evaluation in order to achieve the termination of gestation, thus obtaining a live, healthy and uncomplicated newborn.
