This research is the result of a case study, analyzing data collected in a public school in the city of Riacho dos Machados, Minas Gerais. The research sought to understand teachers' interpretation of Literacy and Literacy in the BNCC. Interest in the study arose from the experience of a student who, when reading, was unable to understand what was being read. This led to the identification of a significant challenge in the transition between literacy and literacy, in which simple literacy does not guarantee understanding what is being read. General objective: To understand the perception of 2nd grade teachers in relation to literacy and literacy in the BNCC.
