Magnetic ceramic composites for waste-water treatment

Salma Naga, Mona Ahmed, Abdelmegeed Farge

The nano-composites with comprehensive magnetic properties are among the most common adsorbents and are widespread in the industrial wastewater treatment field. The development and fabrication of highly efficient and robust nanoscale adsorbents for the heavy metal ions removal from industrial wastewater has gained significant interest from the perspective of real industrial applications. For this aim, this book discusses the fabrication and characterization of some ceramic composites for wastewater treatment. It is divided into three main chapters: the introduction and published research, the experimental part and the results and discussion. The book includes the chemicals used and their degree of purity. It also includes a detailed description of the equipment and analyses used and the preparation methods for the starting materials. The effects of adsorbent dosage and contact time on the adsorption capacity were studied in detail. The obtained composites are promising superparamagnetic nanocomposites, which can serve as an adsorbent fabricated for industrial companies' wastewater-effective purification.
