The growth of the urban population and the multiple forms adopted in cities are the most interesting phenomena in spatial geography. However, these phenomena have caused environmental, social and economic maladjustments. On the other hand, activities such as urban agriculture bring a new perspective to the city due to their functionalities and contributions, in various factors, to city dynamics. With this in mind, the aim of this research was to analyse urban agriculture practices geared towards commercialisation in the municipality of Montes Claros - MG. Specifically, the aim was to map the production sites for marketing Urban Agriculture (UA) in Montes Claros - MG; analyse the functions of UA in production and marketing in Montes Claros - MG; identify the bottlenecks and potential of UA in Montes Claros - MG and draw up a proposal to encourage and support UA in Montes Claros. By contemplating this practice in the city of Montes Claros, we can see a (re)production of the rural in the urban, in order to guarantee income generation, well-being and contributions to the environment and the consumption dynamics of city dwellers.
