Construction and use of a Fixed Focus Parabolic Solar Disc for cooking

In this world of development and concern for sustainability, the use of clean technologies and renewable energy sources is increasingly promising. Solar energy is an abundant and clean resource that can be used for a variety of applications, such as cooking, dehydrating food, heating, producing electricity and more. The Fixed Focus Parabolic Solar Concentrator, also known as a Scheffler Disc, is a concentrator model that has mechanisms that enable the focus of the reflector to reach high temperatures and always remain static, making it more convenient and practical to use solar thermal energy. This work describes the step-by-step construction of a prototype with a 2.7m (2) reflector area and its use for cooking food. On a clear day, instantaneous temperatures of over 500 degreesC were recorded using an infrared thermometer, confirming the enormous potential of this concentrator. This book is aimed at all solar energy enthusiasts, those who are curious and interested in building a copy of this prototype, and professionals and students who work with solar cookers.
