Bad governance in Nigeria has become a cancerous canker worm that has continued to eat deeper and deeper into the fabrics of development of this country talk less of sustaining it and it has taken its toll on the development strategies of this nation. A country abundantly endowed with both Human and natural resources that can be harnessed and judiciously utilized to spur development but reverse is the case. One of the motives identified for Nigeria's stagnation in terms of development is bad governance. The essence of this paper rests in the fact that good governance and sustainable development are "two sided coin" that cannot exist together and it is against this background that, this paper theoretically and methodologically investigates the pedestal of good governance in Nigeria and its implication on sustainable development goals (SDGs). Deploying existing literatures by employing descriptive and narrative approach in doing justice on the subject matter, we therefore, recommends a strong role by various stakeholders, cultivation of patriotism spirit and fully integration and proper monitoring of SDGs matters.
