The Adolescent Body in Education
Laine Maria Alves Pizzi
Adolescents go through physical, emotional, physiological and psychological transformations that interfere with their learning and intellectual capacity. The author brought the conflict of this phase to the fore, exploring body development, as well as proprioception and the sensations that emerge from the body and psyche. Deepening and studying the body/mind relationship was necessary in order to understand knowledge and development during adolescence. Learning is also seen here as a process of knowing the internal world, which is the individual's perception of themselves, their emotional and physical sensations, their loving relationship with family, friends, educators, the social environment and the technological universe that will form the cognitive process. Research into the physiology of the body, the development and functioning of the brain and the formation of the psyche is of great help to parents, educators and adolescents themselves. This knowledge is essential. The theories of Bioenergetic Analysis and Biosynthesis, which believe that 'body and mind' are integrated, have corroborated that emotional and bodily self-perception is the key to intelligence and learning.
