This book is the result of the research I carried out for my master's dissertation in Social Sciences in the Postgraduate Programme in Sociology and Anthropology at the Federal University of Para, completed in 2014. I have made some adaptations and added new excerpts in order to better contextualise the research object. Mineracao e Deslocamento dos Ribeirinhos no Rio Capim is a pioneering work that, as well as contributing to the understanding and discussion of social conflicts in the Amazon within the Human Sciences, aims to serve as a basis for new, diversified and in-depth research into the process of mineral exploitation in the region and the various and consequent transformations that have occurred and will occur in this place, affecting the environment, culture, economy and autonomy of the riverside communities on this territory.
