This work deals with an analysis of the machining of brake discs using the DA-8700 grinding machine, applied in the environment of a car dealership. The aim was to analyze this type of machining with the equipment in question in the aforementioned environment, describing the conditions used, identifying the factors that led to the disc being repaired and identifying possible improvements to the machining process. By monitoring the routine at the dealership, identifying the non-conformities presented and the material of the disks, as well as knowing the parameters and equipment used in the machining process, it was possible to continue this research. In this way, it was possible to better evaluate the process and show the actions needed to improve it. The variation in disc thickness and warpage were easy to identify by carrying out the diagnosis applied at the dealership, while the identification of cutting parameters served to demonstrate that those used in machining meet the requirements of the material (FFC), even though the indexable insert used may not be the most suitable for the process.
