This book aims to analyze the use of the Internet by the Mata Verde Nucleus - Temple of Umbanda. The research method was bibliographical, followed by an analysis of the publications presented on the website, blog and Web TV Sarava Umbanda, organized by the Mata Verde Nucleus. It emerged that the internet is a tool where the virtual space corresponds to confrontations and the search for the identity of social groups. Thus, the virtual cannot be perceived as something dissociated from the real, but as a construction with a social materiality. New forms of interaction and social mediation are established in the virtual environment. This implies the way in which power relations, political and symbolic relations are perceived, in which all subjects must be perceived as authors and not just as subordinates.
