Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a common condition that causes pelvic symptoms and impairs quality of life. According to the literature, lateral suspension is recognised as an alternative surgical technique to promontofixation, based on good anatomical and functional results. Prospective study on a sample of 60 patients operated on between 2016 and 2019 using lateral suspension, with anatomical evaluation using the POP-Q and functional evaluation using the PFDI-20 questionnaire for pelvic symptoms, the PFIQ-7 for quality of life and the PGI-I for patient satisfaction: mean age 57.6+/-8.9 years, 53.3% had at least one delivery of a large child, with obstetrical trauma present in 73.3%. The average operating time was 139.5+/-58.6. The rate of operative complications was very low at 3.3%. Post-operative complications included exposure of the prosthesis and ureterovaginal fistula. Anatomical results at 12 months were excellent, with a good results rate of 90%.
