Ethnobotany is concerned with the study of the knowledge developed by society about the plant world, encompassing both the way they classify plants and the way they use them. It is likely that the use of medicinal plants as medicine is as old as man himself, and is more evident in developing countries, where most of the poor population does not have access to pharmacy medicines. The main objective of this study was to assess the use of medicinal plants in the municipalities that make up the 14th Administrative Region of Emater da PB, based in the city of Pombal. The study was carried out using descriptive field research with a qualitative approach. The data collection instrument was a previously structured questionnaire containing objective and subjective questions. The results showed that over 90% of those interviewed use medicinal plants to treat human illnesses and over 60% use this type of treatment in conjunction with bee honey. The plants most used by the interviewees were: lemon balm, macela, lavender, holy grass, mastruz and mint.
