Collaborative Learning in the Mathematics Classroom
Maria Antonieta Le?n Loaiza, Stalin Antonio Mar?n Alvarado
Collaborative learning in the mathematics classroom is a pedagogical strategy that encourages interaction among students to build knowledge together. This methodology is based on the premise that learning is a social process in which students can share ideas, learn from each other and develop important social skills. Collaborative Learning in mathematics has been shown to improve academic performance, increase student motivation and engagement, and develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. To implement it effectively, it is important that teachers receive adequate training, carefully plan activities, provide tools and support to students, and assess learning on a regular basis.
