According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), around 1% of the world's population over the age of 65 is affected by Parkinson's disease. Research carried out for this project showed that the disease doesn't just affect the elderly, but that more and more young people are discovering that they have the disease. It was also discovered that younger patients look for information about the disease on the internet, while older patients turn to more old-fashioned media such as DVDs. It was possible to analyze that there is no variety of material developed for this audience, and it was noticed that the existing material on social networks is not adequate, because it is old, made in a "homemade" way and with information that does not match the reality of the patients. This project consists of producing a series of videos to reinforce the physiotherapy applied in clinics and associations for Parkinson's patients. This production aims to collaborate in the treatment with exercises, in order to promote patient autonomy in a credible material and appropriate language. The exercises do not replace physiotherapy sessions, but complement them.
