Scavenging is an age old practice of the human era. In India scavenging is a caste based occupation carried out by dalit women. The researcher had analyzed the problem of scavenging in Tamil Nadu, India and searched the reason for its continuance in various pockets. It is an occupational activity of carrying out scavenging work, which is susceptible to harm and degrade the people involved. It was an attempt to analyze the physiological, psychological, sociological, economical, political, unhealthy practices of vulnerability and forced menial practices of scavenging women. The researcher tried to probe details on building resilience towards sustainable development of women scavengers.
