Four-Wheeler Crash Detection Seat Belt System with Automatic Release

Over the past ten years, there has been an increase in vehicle crashes on roads, resulting in the loss of many lives due to severe injuries. To address this issue, vehicle manufacturers have implemented a combination of airbag systems and three-point seat belts. However, the three-point seat belt system has its limitations. In some cases, the seat belt retractor can become jammed due to excessive load or tension on the latch plate and buckle setup. This can hinder occupants from exiting the vehicle swiftly, especially if they are injured or if there are malfunctions in the mechanical components. To overcome this challenge, a crash-sensing seat belt and automatic release system (CSSBARS) has been proposed. In this system, the occupant's seatbelt automatically releases after a predetermined time interval following an accident, ensuring smooth evacuation from the vehicle. The CSSBARS system aims to enhance passenger safety during collisions. Therefore, replacing the mechanical system with CSSBARS, which features a more reliable locking mechanism, is suggested.
