To find a beneficial way to utilize pond ash (PA) in soil stabilization as well as other geotechnical applications such as embankment, construction, backfill material and sub base material etc. As pond ash (PA) alone does not manifest desirable engineering properties, so to stabilize the material, addition of cement is desirable. Pond ash (PA) may be utilized with or without aggregate as a pavement layer or in any other geotechnical projects. In this study pond ash (PA) without aggregate has been used, since the aim is to utilize high volumes of this waste material. Pond ash was collected from "GURU GOBIND SINGH SUPER THERMAL POWER PLANT (GGSSTP), ROPAR" Punjab, INDIA. Ordinary Portland cement was used for this study. The objective of this study is to investigate the geotechnical characteristics of cement-pond ash (PA) mixture. To achieve this objective Standard proctor test, Un-confined compression test and Flexural tests were conducted on different test specimens. Addition of cement in pond ash (PA) was used in 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 % proportions for 7, 14, 28 days of curing. Specimens were prepared at optimum moisture content to achieve maximum dry density.
