A New Approach of Increasing Cashew Nuts Production in Africa

This book gives brief explanation about cashew trees, the good agricultural practices in cashew for diffferent cashew genotypes i.e. dwarf, common and giant. It also highlights on how to manage cashew trees raised by seed/vegetative propagation, the management of young and mature cashew trees. It provides short and long tems strategies on how to increase yields in farmes' fields. It reviews success story from selected countries on how cashew production was increased through rehabilitation and upgrading of old and existing cashew farms. Further, it outlines the sustainable procedure for developing cashew varieties or improved cashew planting materials. Additionally, the book shortlists main activities implemented in cashew production farms, which cover diffferent types of pruning including formative pruning, heavy pruning and how prunings are correctly and incorrectly implemented in different countries.
