Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics being a super specialty in the field of dentistry have been evolving since the early 18th century. Even though the orthodontic field has evolved through the years still the results are little compromised because of adverse effects caused by orthodontic treatment. I am happy to introduce this first edition of my book titled "Orthodontic Scars" to the dental fraternity and thus, it would help in eliminating these scars at the end of orthodontic treatment. I have elaborated on the various types of orthodontic scars and their etiology and preventive and therapeutic procedures. This would build a better and broader view of these adverse effects among dental practitioners and orthodontists. I had a diverse readership in mind while compiling and writing this book. My main focus is the dental students, orthodontists, and dental practitioners. As the orthodontic field is evolving daily, we should be updated regarding the newer techniques and materials and their drawbacks. Hence, diverse knowledge regarding orthodontic scars is an essential part to be known by practitioners performing orthodontic treatment.
