Candidemia in Neonatal Intensive Care Units

Hematologic fungal infections in neonates are commonly associated with various factors. Among these infections is candidemia, which has become increasingly frequent. Related factors include prematurity and the use of invasive therapeutic devices, determining high morbidity and mortality rates. In this context, measures to prevent fungal infections and the institution of appropriate treatment could improve the current scenario.
