Hemophilia is a rare congenital coagulopathy responsible for bleeding which, when localized and repeated, can lead to progressive joint destruction. These complications are the cause of morbidity and disability in these patients. In addition to the administration of clotting factor concentrates, either prophylactically or on demand, which has radically transformed the prognosis of hemophilia, the management of musculoarticular complications requires close collaboration between the hematologist and/or pediatrician, and physical medicine specialists to effectively prevent hemarthrosis, manage acute episodes, assess patients' joint condition and prevent hemophilic arthropathy. Early rehabilitation aims to prevent musculoskeletal retractions, accelerate blood resorption by expelling blood through muscular contractions, increase joint stability, improve peri-articular muscle strength and reduce bleeding frequency.
