It is quite often vaccine manufacturing in India is simultaneously related by research agencies with pharmaceuticals. Manufacturing process, business process, regulatory process and competencies of manufacturers are different for vaccines and pharmaceutical drugs. It is the inherent bio-security requirement, long lead times to produce the batches and pre-dominantly a non-retail business makes vaccine business vulnerable. An attempt has been made to explore this area which can work as a guideline for the upcoming manufacturers.
