In the present study, Iso-propanol extracts of male and female Phoenix Dactylifera L. leaves are evaluated for their effectiveness to inhibit corrosion of aluminum under 1M HCl acidic conditions. The inhibition of efficiency of the inhibitor increases with increase in inhibitor dosage. Both male and female Phoenix Dactylifera L. leaves extract are enriched with phytochemicals namely proteins, amino acids, saponins, flavanoids, oils, fats, terpenoids and steroids. By the means of their hetero atoms, these phytochemicals are adsorbed on the surface of metal plate and hence prevents mass transfer process during corrosion. The adsorption of male and female Phoenix Dactylifera L onto the surface of aluminum plates is in accordance with Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
