This work analyses the geographical and economic dynamics of the process of appropriation of capital and domination of space by the Costao Golf Residential Condominium. It identifies the principles of environmental law, Brazilian environmental and urban legislation, and the phases of urbanisation in Florianopolis. Finally, the case of the Costao Golf Residential Condominium is used as the object of study. Its relationship with the government is analysed, as it contravenes the Principles of Environmental Law and Brazilian Environmental Legislation, and could have perverse socio-environmental impacts on the city of Florianopolis, especially on the communities in the north of the island, which are actively participating in the resistance against the development, highlighting the risk of contamination of the Ingleses Aquifer as a result of the management of the golf course lawn.
