Research has shown that cognitive rehabilitation in schizophrenia is necessary given the cognitive impairment observed in different neuropsychological tests, with major failures in attention, memory and executive functions. The purpose of this study was to apply a cognitive rehabilitation program, specialized in attention and working memory for patients diagnosed with schizophrenia, due to the fact that these processes are usually seriously compromised in this disease. This is a factual, hetero-observational, prospective, prospective research with experiment-type manipulated independent variable and using a pretest-posttest design of a single group. Neuropsychological tests were applied to measure the different types of attention (TMT, Stroop) and working memory (WAIS III and WMS III working memory scale subtests), in order to observe and compare the functioning of these processes before and after the application of the program, and thus determine if there are significant differences.
