The text is the result of the authors' look at the history of Cuba from the perspective of political economy. The conclusions they reach are the result of their research work as university professors. The approach with which they work on these issues places them in the field of Marxist theory. It is written in plain language, probably due to the fact that they share their university teaching with trade union and political activism.
