According to Article 2 of the Law on the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Chamber of Commerce of Iran is a non-profit organization that has legal personality and financial independence. This organization has been established in order to create coordination and cooperation between businessmen and the owners of industries and mines in important business centers of the country, according to the demand of local businessmen and the proposal of the Ministry of National Economy and with the approval of the government to coordinate their activities and bargain with government institutions to ensure their interests. The Iran Chamber is in charge of managing the secretariat of the dialogue council between the government and the private sector. This chamber has 60 representatives, 40 of which are elected from the private sector and 20 from the government.
