This book is an effort to embolden Nyerere’s rich idea on human dignity which, in my view, is hardly acknowledged, most probably, because it is dispersed into other related ideas of freedom, unity, human rights, and human equality. Conclusively, This book will provide us Nyerere’s notion of human dignity as relevant to our society of post-modern time which tends to put emphasis on material wealth forgetting man who is involved in the process of working on matter in order to change it and to make profit. Through this process of production man’s involvement is given a little attention which leaves him as a being which has no value except to be exploited and marginalized. Nyerere’s scope of human dignity helps to rethink about the due respect that man deserves in his daily activities for his subsistence.
