With the advent of computers and modeling techniques, complicated problems in hydrology are solved with speed and accuracy. In this book general principles of flood routing are given but greatest emphasis is given to two river routing methods i.e. Muskingum and Lag methods which have the widest practical applications. The book gives examples of using computer program HEC-HMS of Hydrologic Engineering Centre [1] in calibration, validation of the Muskingum and Lag methods and the derivation of downstream hydrographs using data of upstream location. Data used were obtained from two gauging stations of Klang river at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In short, the book emphasized more on practical aspects of using computer software in river routing and hydrograph design. It is hoped that this book will be useful for practical Engineers engaged in water related structure design and river basin studies. It is also recommended as a training document for water Engineers and University students.
