Ever since the beginning of history no mortal set foot on the peak of the highlands. No one was able to reach that place which is considered to be the center of the world. Then came Altarin, seeker of truth, and one courageous enough to dare challenge this trial.
But the obstacles of this journey are extremely hard to overcome. A mysterious labyrinth forest that misleads unfortunate travelers. An encampment of enemy forces that their numbers have never been measured. And a dark presence hiding deep within of unrivaled destructive power.
Altarin holds a secret weapon, an ancient crystal that seems to exist since the beginning of time. This might be the key to unlock the path ahead and lead his people, the gyarii, to a new horizon. But Altarin cannot do it alone. He will need the help of his companions, friends that he makes along the way. Each and one of them holds different skills, necessary for the success of this mission.
But even then there are still questions left to be answered. The origin of the crystal which seems to hold the power of the gods. And a girl's name that seems to appear again and again in Altarin's dreams but is always forgotten.
The prophecy says that when the gyarii reach the top of the highlands all truths will be revealed. But are the sacrifices made along the way worth the prize?
The events of the book take place in the same universe as the action-platformer game: 'Astra: Fading Stars'
