In this paper we analyzed the mineral resource base of the Russian Arctic zone, showing prospects of development of hydrocarbon resources of the Arctic shelf, we evaluated the role of the Northern Sea Route in their development, including the expected global and regional warming, presented innovative technologies in the regeneration of hydrocarbon deposits feedstock oil and gas production and their transportation. Based on the results of studies on climate change conducted by Russian scientists, primarily VV School Klimenko, the key risks during the development of hydrocarbon resources in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
