On the basis of archival materials the author establishes the sources used by the Nikon spravschiki at work on a new version of the Service Book, and traces the history of the text of the liturgical books until the middle of the XIX century. In addition, the study provides new data on the history of the controversy the middle of XVII century, caused by the correction of the liturgical books.
