In the 2nd part of the monograph of F. Braudel painted a detailed picture of the life of the Mediterranean societies, and describes in detail its main aspects: economic, political and civilization. This is the largest section of the tripartite labor Braudel, most rich original material and most fully reflects the historical biases of the author. Unlike the 1st part, describing the Mediterranean geographical environment, and the third dedicated to event-triggered stories, here investigated as a stable social structure and dynamics of the various processes; given their detailed quantitative characteristics expressed by a peculiar view on the Mediterranean civilization.
