Assessing the life history as a mentor, the author sees the purpose of his study is to show the change of the environment and social and political development of Poland in the past, find out the causes of this development and the subsequent decline, to characterize people and outstanding individuals in every age, and divisions, into which each epoch. Particular attention is paid to the XV and XVI centuries, the time of prosperity of Poland. The author encourages the reader to respect the past, but not turn it into a mummy, and reasonably and sensibly use the lessons of history.
