Shifter Tales Book 1 - Changing
Ranger Jason Hernandez faces a tough case when dead shifters turn up without even a clue of their murderer. When more and more hints indicate magical influence, he has to do something he never wanted to do: team up with the mages. Or at least one, which is more than enough for him. Hopefully they can work things out quickly enough, and he doesn't have to deal with the mage more than he wants too. Unless that very mage proves to be his mate.
William Green is probably the most useless mage in Fairbanks. At least in his own mind. With powers that are barely usable at all, he is lucky, the High Council had offered to take him in as an investigator after all. When his boss then assigns him to work with two rangers on their current case, things suddenly get a lot more interesting. Especially when one of the rangers proves to be particularly intriguing on a very different level. But how could a simple human be his perfect mate?
When they realize, they are up against one of the most powerful mage families, Jason and William have to work together not only to solve their case, but to come out of this mess alive. Only if William manages to access and control the full potential of his magical powers, they might have a chance. But with no idea what they are actually about and no mentor in sight to teach him, that's a tough challenge.
Warning: M/M, true mate trope. Contains graphic intimate scenes and coarse language.
