This is an Uchen copybook printed in black and white for who are learning how to write the Tibetan alphabet. The font is relatively large and therefore suitable for children.
Every page has eight lines; every line has either ten or eleven letters. One complete page is used for each of the 30 letters that make up the Tibetan alphabet (87 repetitions). The four vowel signs and the compound characters are each given half a page (43 repetitions). At the beginning of the page is an illustration that shows the order in which the individual strokes of the letter have to be written. The entire letter is initially printed in a background colour so that it can be traced. The individual strokes then gradually disappear, allowing the children to learn how to write each letter independently and step by step.
The blank page at the back of the book can be copied as often as needed for further writing exercises.
