Her oversized enamel canvasses of everyday objects put Tatjana Doll’s name on the map: cars, trains, containers, pictograms, babushkas… And yet the pictures do not show reality. Instead they retain their independence. This is also true of her fine drawings. Like the objects in her paintings, the artist lends her figures an independent existence. Tatjana Doll (b. Burgensteinfurt, 1970; lives and works in Berlin) was made professor at the Staatliche Akademie der Kunste Karlsruhe in 20092010. This is the first publication of 350 leaves selected from her drawing oevre and dated between 1998 and 2010.
