This annotated, two volume reference work deals with the writings of an author of international importance and their translations into about thirty languages, as well as secondary literature from all over the world. It was conceived as both a traditional bibliography and as an introductory commentary, not only listing titles but also providing access to the material for English-speaking readers, students, scholars and friends of Kafka alike. This bibliography provides critical comments on many entries, whilst the subject, name, and work indexes give easy access to the material. This enlarged and revised second edition is almost twice the size of the first editions, which appeared separately in 1982 and 1987, and contains addenda up to 1997, as a testimony of the undiminished interest in this author’s works. In addition, it has been extended with special German and English indexes and an extensive appendix with book commentaries in English.
