architekturbild, the European Architectural Photography Prize, has been awarded on a two-yearly basis since 1995. This time the contestants’ subject is Borders . A polarised subject, borders can be understood in the sense of opening or closing, of including or excluding, or as definitions of geographical or (urban) spatial areas. They can be clearly recognisable or subtly noticeable, but are always perceived as either protecting or deterring. In the context of the European Architectural Photography Prize 2017, this book by no means focuses on the negative interpretations of this term, but rather on how the concept of ‘borders’ influences and stimulates photographic-artistic involvement with our built environment. AUTHOR: architekturbild e.v. is a non-profit organisation. Since 2008 they have worked in cooperation with the Deutsches Architekturmuseum, Frankfurt, and since 2016 with the Bundesstiftung Baukultur, Potsdam/Berlin. SELLING POINTS: .
