This volume is an original approach to the discussion of expanding the study of comparativism to world history. A total of 19 contributions study the interdependency of religion and national demarcations in India and Germany in the 19th and 20th centuries. The focus is on persons who held the power to define ideas and methodical concepts. Even today comparativism is nearly always shaped by concepts developed within European history. This volume is based on the assumption that a comparison can fulfil the function of a dialogue between historiographers and scientific cultures, with the goal of introducing European concepts and experiences to foreign experiences. This innovative approach allows us to explore the potential of comparativism in a completely new way. This text is in German.
