Das vorliegende Buch zur Ikonographie und Ikonologie Kaiser Karls IV. stellt den Begriff ‘Portr trealismus’ in den Kontext einer herrscherikonographischen Betrachung und macht diesen zur Grundlage und zum Ausgangspunkt f r die weiterf hrende ikonographische und ikonologische Untersuchung.Als zeitlicher Rahmen der Bildnisbetrachtung wurden das Geburts- und Sterbejahr Karls IV., 1316 und 1378 gew hlt. Geografisch wurden - mit Ausnahme der sogenannten Altanszene der Marienkiche in M hlhausen - ausschlie lich die b hmischen Bildnisse behandelt.
