English Summary: In a society marked by structural changes, preventive services are more and more often performed in institutional contexts. In consequence, prevention is becoming an important task demanding professional theories from the social sciences as well as the educational and therapeutic professions. With its creative potential at the interface of art, pedagogy and therapy, music provides ideal opportunities for low-threshold, but at the same time highly effective, preventive services. Their methodical realization, however, should be rooted in an accurate understanding of psychological and group-dynamic processes. This book presents examples of music therapy projects in various settings and discusses the potential of music therapy in preventative care.
