Cristoforo Buondelmonti, Liber Insularum Archipelagi

English description: This volume contains a transliteration of Liber insularum Archipelagi , the Dusseldorfer Manuscript Ms. G 13, that was already published as facsimile in 2005. The book also contains a general map, a translation into German, several annotations and a detailed index. The work is about the Florentine Christoforo Buondelmonti’s four year cruise on the Greek isles. He undertook the journey in the 1520s on behalf of the Florentine scholar Niccolo Niccoli and cardinal Giordano Orsini. In letters to Orsini he recorded his observations, experiences and adventures, edited in this book.
