Vaclav Pozarek, born 1940 in former Czechoslovakia, is regarded as one of the most significant figures in contemporary Swiss art. After his emigration in 1968 his artistic education was at Hamburg’s University of Fine Arts and at St. Martins’s School of Art in London. He has been living and working in Bern since 1973, creating a much-recognised oeuvre, mainly in drawing and sculpture. This new monograph, published to coincide with a solo exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Solothurn and designed by Pozarek himself, offers a survey of his drawings, sculptures and installations from the past ten years. The essays explore his work and discuss his recent exhibitions.
