Diese Untersuchung verfolgt das Ziel, eine Brucke zwischen dem oekonomischen Modell der Tournamenttheorie und der Anwendung von Turnierloesungen in der Praxis zu schlagen. Dabei stehen die Vor- und Nachteile von Leistungsturnieren im Mittelpunkt. Folgende Forschungsfragen wurden dazu gestellt: Welche Vor- und Nachteile haben Turnieranreize? Welche Erfahrungen wurden in der Vergangenheit mit dem Einsatz von Leistungsturnieren gemacht? Sind die Problemfelder von Turnieren so fundamental, dass sie gegen den Einsatz von Leistungsturnieren sprechen?
