Das Buch umfasst den Inhalt einer Vorlesungsreihe, die sich uber die ersten vier bis funf Semester erstreckt. Neu aufgenommen sind zahlreiche Beispiele, in denen Differentialgleichungen bzw. Systeme von Differentialgleichungen mit Mathematica geloest werden. Der Abschnitt Fouriertransformation wird um die wichtigen Bereiche Diskrete Fouriertransformation (DFT) und Schnelle Fouriertransformation (FFT) erweitert und somit aktualisiert. Anhand von Beispielen wird deren algorithmische Behandlung dargestellt und erklart.

Fur die neue Auflage wurde das Buch vollstandig uberarbeitet und erweitert. Insbesondere wurde das Layout umfassend modernisiert.
