Museum of the Papal Carriages in the Vatican: Recent Restorations of the Vatican Museums

Of the many various initiatives that rendered the pontificate of Pope Paul VI (Giovanni Battista Montini, 1963-1978) one of the most important in terms of sensitivity and attention shown in organising the museum galleries, creating new collections and exhibiting works of art, by no means the least was the foundation, in 1973, of the Vatican Historical Museum.
